What to Expect at ResilientRx

Your symptoms are only part of the story.

We take the time to understand how your body moves, adapts, and responds so we can help you make sense of your symptoms and build a plan that works for you.

The ResilientRx Approach

We look beyond where it hurts.

Hint: Where you feel pain isn’t always where the problem begins.

The jaw, pelvic floor, feet, breath, and nervous system can influence one another. With hypermobility, neurodivergence, chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, or hormonal changes, the body may also develop tension and movement patterns to create stability, get sensory input, or adapt when it’s overwhelmed.

So we don’t just treat the painful area.

We view symptoms as signals. They are the body’s language, communicating that something needs attention.

We assess how you move, breathe, stabilize, and sense your body. We look at joint mobility, fascia, nervous system responses, sensory and proprioceptive needs, lymphatic flow, and visceral mobility (how internal organs move) to identify patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Treatment may combine hands-on work such as dry needling, myofascial work, cupping, movement, strength and stability, sensory input, breath, and nervous system support, based on what your body responds to.

Then we teach you how to recognize and respond to your body’s patterns, so you can build capacity, understand what you need, and adapt as your body changes.

You don’t need another long list of exercises to feel guilty about not doing. We want you to leave with the awareness, exercises and tools to know what supports your body, without feeling like your health depends on doing everything “perfectly”. You will always be 1:1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

What is the next step?

Start With an 85-Minute Evaluation

This gives us time to understand your goals, what you’ve already tried, what has helped, and what hasn’t. We’ll assess how your body moves and look at patterns involving your joints, fascia, breathing, nervous system, sensory needs, and other systems that may be contributing to what you’re experiencing.

You’ll also receive treatment during your first visit. Depending on what your body needs, this may include hands-on therapy, fascial or visceral work, movement, strength and stability, breathwork, sensory input, and nervous system support.

Most importantly, we’ll explain what we’re noticing and why, so you leave with a better understanding of your body, not just another list of things to do.

Follow-Up Sessions

When symptoms have been present for years, the patterns behind them often have been too. Old injuries, surgeries, stress, movement habits, and adaptations can continue to shape how your body moves today. Yes, even that ankle you sprained as a kid can still matter.

For long-standing or complex symptoms, we typically recommend 8–12 sessions. This gives us time to:

  • Uncover and address patterns that have developed over time
  • Help your body find new ways to move, stabilize, and respond
  • Build strength, body awareness, and capacity
  • Integrate those changes into your everyday life

Over time, the goal shifts from “Why does my body keep doing this?” to understanding your patterns, recognizing what your body is asking for, and knowing how to respond.

The goal is to move from constantly managing your body to confidently knowing how to support it.

What is the time and financial investment?

Most people start with weekly visits for the first 6 weeks. From there, we gradually space out visits based on your progress, your goals, and what your body needs.

Do you take insurance?

We are an out-of-network practice, which allows us to provide longer, one-on-one sessions tailored to you.

Our model allows your physical therapist to focus fully on you for your entire visit, with the time to look at the bigger picture rather than rushing through care.

We provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies widely depending on your individual plan. We’ve seen some patients receive significant reimbursement, while others receive little to none, so we recommend checking your out-of-network benefits directly with your insurance provider.

We also accept HSA/FSA cards, most major credit and debit cards, and CareCredit, which offers financing options, including 0% interest for 6 months.

If your employer offers or is interested in directly sponsoring your care, we can also work with them to arrange direct payment to ResilientRx. Have them reach out directly to our owner Dr. Mary Grimberg at [email protected]

Have questions for a PT before getting started?

We get it. Starting with another provider can feel daunting, especially if you’ve already tried a lot of things without getting the answers or progress you were hoping for.

If you have questions or aren’t sure whether ResilientRx is the right fit, you can schedule a 15-minute phone consultation for $50 with one of our physical therapists. It’s a chance to share what’s going on, ask questions, and get a better sense of whether our approach is right for you before committing to a full evaluation.
